VFW Post 8336 Supports Moapa Valley Cross Country Teams During Community Event

MOAPA VALLEY, Nev. — Veterans, student-athletes, coaches, families, and community members came together in Moapa Valley for a morning of competition, encouragement, and community support as VFW Elwood Perkins Post 8336 helped support the local Cross Country teams by selling breakfast burritos and Gatorade during the event.

The event was about much more than running. It was an opportunity for the community to come together and show its support for the young athletes who dedicate their time and effort to representing their schools and Moapa Valley.

Members and supporters of VFW Post 8336 were on hand serving breakfast burritos and Gatorade to athletes, families, spectators, and others attending the event. The fundraiser provided the Post with another opportunity to fulfill an important part of the VFW mission—serving the community and supporting local youth.

A Community Effort

Cross Country takes dedication, discipline, teamwork, and determination. Those qualities were on display throughout the event as runners competed while coaches, teammates, families, volunteers, and spectators encouraged them along the course.

VFW Post 8336 would like to recognize all of the student-athletes who participated. Every runner who stepped onto the course represented the hard work and commitment that make local school athletics successful.

The Post also extends its appreciation to the coaches, school staff, volunteers, parents, family members, event organizers, and community supporters whose time and effort helped make the event possible.

Special thanks also go to the members and volunteers of VFW Elwood Perkins Post 8336 who helped prepare, organize, sell, and serve the breakfast burritos and Gatorade. Community events are successful because people are willing to give their time and work together toward a common goal.

Veterans Continuing to Serve

For the members of VFW Post 8336, supporting local students is another way veterans can continue serving after their military service has ended.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars has a long tradition of supporting veterans, military families, youth programs, education, patriotism, and local communities. Here in Moapa Valley, Post 8336 continues that tradition by participating in events that bring veterans and community members together.

Supporting local youth is especially important because today's students will become tomorrow's community leaders, volunteers, educators, first responders, service members, business owners, and neighbors.

Thank You, Moapa Valley

VFW Elwood Perkins Post 8336 thanks everyone who participated, volunteered, purchased a breakfast burrito or Gatorade, encouraged a runner, supported the teams, or simply came out to be part of the event.

Most importantly, congratulations to all of the Cross Country athletes who competed. Regardless of finishing position, getting out on the course, representing your team, and giving your best effort is something worth recognizing.

Events like this demonstrate what makes Moapa Valley special: students working hard, families supporting them, community members volunteering, and veterans continuing their commitment to service.

VFW Elwood Perkins Post 8336 is proud to support the Moapa Valley Cross Country teams and looks forward to continuing to serve our veterans, youth, schools, and community.

Veterans Supporting Our Community. Community Supporting Our Youth. Moapa Valley Strong.
